A delicious, natural snack
Wild strawberries
Keep your eyes peeled on your next forest walk! Perhaps you’ll find some delicious wild strawberries.
During summer, it does us a world of good to immerse ourselves in the wonderful peace of the forest. It not only gives us fresh air, a soothing backdrop of sounds, and plenty of opportunities to play, but also sweet and totally natural snacks – like wild strawberries! The “little sister” of the garden strawberry can be identified by its jagged leaves and white flowers with five petals and yellow centre, which after pollination transform into bright red fruits with a natural taste. You’ll often find them in partial shade on the forest floor. So, keep your eyes peeled for these sweet, flavoursome forest fruits on your next family walk when you visit the Dolomites on your holidays this summer. Make sure you take a bottle of water with you so you can wash the strawberries and make sure they’re clean before you eat them. By the way, they taste particularly good with yoghurt and muesli for breakfast! And best of all, you’ll find them all summer long, right through to the beginning of autumn!
