Rose hip: a power fruit
Energy kick for autumn
Autumn is known as the colourful or golden season, and we spend a lot of time outdoors. A must here: natural vitamin sources.
Who hasn’t experienced this: going on exciting and impressive autumn walks, collecting plump chestnuts, and working off excess energy in the fresh air – especially when in South Tyrol on your holidays. There are lots of things to do with children in autumn, but that's exactly what can quickly lead to colds. To prevent illnesses, we have a tip for you. Rose hip, or rather: rose hip puree. Rose hips grow on hedges and are a bright red colour, you must have noticed them before! They contain high amounts of vitamin C, which can prevent colds and strengthen our immune system. To make puree from these red fruits, remove the stems and leaves and boil the fruits in water for about half an hour. Strain the cooked fruit through a sieve so that no seeds get into the puree. Then sweeten it with a little honey and put it in sealable jars so that you have a supply for the whole winter. Our special tip: Add a tablespoon of rosehip puree to your breakfast cereal every day!
