Snowshoeing with the whole family
Val d’Ultimo/Ultental awaits!
Winter means it’s time for snowshoeing here in Val d’Ultimo/Ultental!
Unspoilt Val d’Ultimo/Ultental is a real hiking paradise in winter. Perfectly prepared winter hiking paths and well-marked snowshoeing trails make your holiday at our hotel – part of Familienhotels Südtirol, your luxury family hotels in Italy – a unique experience. We especially love walking on the ridgeway that leads from the Schwemmalm mountain station at 2,169 metres above sea level past the Ausserschwemm hut. This circular route takes you high above the valley floor and lets you enjoy a fantastic view of the snow-covered Cresta Val d’Ultimo/Ulten mountains, such as Mt Gran Ladro/Hoher Dieb or Mt Peilstein. The well-signed snowshoe trail then continues towards Mt Orecchia di Lepre/Hasenohr and then gently descends back to Inner Schwemmalm at 2,095 metres above sea level before you return to your starting point. This hike takes a total of around one to two hours, and you’ll cover an elevation difference of 130 metres. Our tip: Put on your gloves and enjoy a snowball fight along the way!
