Have you ever visited Valle d'Altafossa/Altfasstal? It’s near Meransen and will enchant you with its wildly romantic charm. Especially in springtime, you can enjoy a unique setting of lush green meadows, radiant meadow flowers, and the odd snow-capped peak. Valle d'Altafossa/Altfasstal is the perfect place for walks with pram or pushchair during your family holiday. Set off from the Valle d'Altafossa/Altfasstal car park at the end of Meransen and hike along a forest trail for around 45 minutes, until you reach Großberg hut with its sunny terrace. Here, you can enjoy refreshments, stock up on energy, and soak up the sunshine. Our tip: A mountain stream winds its way down Valle d'Altafossa/Altfasstal, which is still chilly in May but where children love to play and build little dams. Return via the same route or extend your walk a bit by walking back to Meransen on the other side of the valley. And if you’d like to explore on two wheels, the area around Meransen is also wonderful for anyone looking for mountain biking holidays in the Alps.
