The Terenten Christmas market

If you want to experience the magic of Advent, you should pay a visit to the mountain village Terenten. It welcomes you with glowing lights and the smell of biscuits.

During Advent, Terenten dresses up for its visitors. On the weekends before Christmas, the mountain village on the Val Pusteria/Pustertal Sun Road turns into a Christmas village, where you can experience the magic of Advent during your winter holiday with children. A special and contemplative atmosphere prevails in this idyllic village during the pre-Christmas period, as the old Christmas traditions are awakened to new life.

Starting at the beautifully decorated village, the path leads to the associations’ house, which is turned into an aromatic Christmas bakery. Here, children can bake their own biscuits and (of course) taste them. The petting zoo and the large Christmas crib will make their eyes sparkle, too. In the evening, when it starts to get dark, the villagers light a campfire and tell the little ones exciting fairy tales, while the flames illuminate the night. On the playground, craftsmen sell their hand-made products and in the huts in the “Stockner Waldile” forest, you can taste different traditional meals that will make your mouth start watering.
