The Mt Rasciesa/Raschötz circular hike
Wide Alpine meadows, rugged rock formations, and clear views into the distance: All that awaits you while hiking in Val Gardena/Gröden.
Summer is a time for enjoying adventures, discovering new paths, and collecting special memories – don’t you agree? Then we have the perfect hike for you, the highlight when you visit Northern Italy and the Dolomites on your holidays: a circular hike on the Rasciesa/Raschötz high Alpine pasture. Hop aboard the Mt Rasciesa/Raschötz funicular in St. Ulrich, which takes you on a panoramic ride up to 2,093 metres above sea level. Now, follow the signs for Costa dl Cason and route no. 31 towards Rasciesa di Fuori/Außerraschötz. On the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Puez-Odle/Puez-Geisler Nature Park. Follow route no. 1 and then 10 until you reach the summit cross at 2,281 metres above sea level. Enjoy the fantastic view of the Dolomites for a moment and then walk down to the Holy Cross Chapel. On the way, Rasciesa/Raschötz high Alpine pasture invites you to take a break. You can then head back to your starting point on route no. 35 – you can return on foot or on the funicular.
