The flowering Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle
Flower scents and a sea of colours
Fun, games, and excitement: In the gardens of Trautmansdorff Castle and in the Touriseum, a number of surprises await young and old visitors!
The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle are not only a paradise for botanists, children also love this destination outside Meran. No wonder, there are plenty of small and big natural wonders to be discovered in every corner. Giant cacti, wonderfully scented citrus trees, carefully laid-out farm gardens, a mysterious maze as well as water and forest landscapes are awaiting you! Make astonishing discoveries at the humming rock, dragonfly clock, geologic mosaic, or in the bee house. The grotto, where you can experience the creation of the earth up close, or the underground passageway, which takes you into the mysterious botanical underworld, will be exciting as well.
During your family holiday in South Tyrol you should also visit the Touriseum. In the midst of more than 80 garden landscapes, you will find the Trauttmansdorff Castle, home to the amusing and child-friendly South Tyrol Museum of Tourism. In a playful way, your children will learn numerous facts about the history of travelling, from the development of the once wild Alps to glamorous luxury hotels and the present day, where smartphones, apps, and rating portals are changing tourism. The colourful model cars, historic hats and cloths to dress up in, the peep-box of Emperor Ferdinand I, a cheerful marble run, and many interactive elements invite you to play and explore – and to dream about your next journey.
Have a lot of fun!
