A hike through Stanghe/Gilfenklamm gorge
An awe-inspiring highlight
Stanghe/Gilfenklamm gorge reopens to visitors from May – pay it a visit!
It’s 2.5 kilometres long, has a height difference of 175 metres, and takes around an hour to walk through: We’re talking about Stanghe/Gilfenklamm gorge. It’s one of the most famous gorges in South Tyrol and can be explored thanks to a sequence of walkways and bridges. As well as going to Italy’s Dolomites on your holidays in Valle Isarco/Eisacktal or Wipptal in spring, Stanghe/Gilfenklamm gorge is also well worth a visit. You’ll see the impressive power of water as it thunders over the white marble down into the valley. The sunshine refracts through the fine mist from the waterfall and creates delicate rainbows. The gorge is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day from May to November. Admission costs 7.00 euros for adults and 5.00 euros for children aged between 6 and 14. The most popular entry point is just before Stange bridge, but you can also enter in the village centre of Stange, just behind the Stange guesthouse. Have a great time!
